Health and safety is a fundamental human right, and we believe that people everywhere should be able to work in a safe environment.
Consultation is more than merely informing people. It can involve responding to employee concerns and involving employees in assessing and improving workplace health and safety. In certain situations, employers must consult about health and safety issues with employees and health and safety representatives (HSRs) if they have them.
52,000 workers suffering from work-related ill health: musculoskeletal disorders (43%), stress, depression or anxiety (31%) and other illness (26%). Truck drivers were twice as likely to be obese compared to other US workers. Being obese, or overweight, can increase the risk of other health problems, such as:
